GatewayGuwahati airport (LGBI) and Guwahati railway station, about 3 hours by road to Shillong.
EntryNo special permit for Indian or foreign guests.

Where we take your guests

  • Shillong — The capital and usual base: Ward's Lake, Police Bazar, Don Bosco Museum, Laitlum canyons and Elephant Falls.
  • Sohra (Cherrapunji) — Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave and some of the wettest valleys in the world.
  • Nongriat and the root bridges — The double-decker living root bridge is a steep trek down (and back up) thousands of steps. Best for fit guests.
  • Mawlynnong — Often called one of Asia's cleanest villages, with a short root bridge walk nearby at Riwai.
  • Dawki and Shnongpdeng — Boating on the clear Umngot river near the Bangladesh border; camping and kayaking at Shnongpdeng.
  • Umiam Lake — A large reservoir on the Guwahati-Shillong road, good for a stop or a lakeside stay.

Most guests combine 3-4 nights in Meghalaya with Kaziranga and Guwahati in Assam.
